Reaching the people of Colombia with portable audio Bibles

In April 2010, Mike Silva International will be bringing the message of Jesus Christ to the people of Leticia, Colombia.  You can imagine the many barriers that arise during any foreign outreach – from culture to language, it is important that effective methods are used to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in a clear, easy-to-understand way.

One of these barriers in Leticia, is illiteracy. Even though the country of Colombia is one of the most educated in the region, there are still as many as 3.4 million people above the age of 15 who are unable to read.  Think of the difficulties a new believer would face being unable to read the Bible!  

As a solution, MSI is bringing Megavoice players that will hold the entire Bible on a portable audio device.  This will not only be an aid to adults who are illiterate, but will also help children and those who are blind know and understand God’s Word.
