Use EVANGELISM SUNDAY to share the Gospel with young people in need by giving them a backpack for school!

HERE IS HOW TO DO IT:

1. Prepare by estimating your backpack needs. Do this by trying to figure out the number of young people that live in a mile radius of your church.

2. Get backpacks donated by local retailers OR purchase them for a reduced rate by calling 503.614.1552 or by emailing us.

3. Promote the RESCATE PROJECT in your church. The goal is to get individual members of your congregation to fill one or more backpacks and return them to the church. All supplies can be purchased at a "Dollar Store" for under $10.

Supplies should include:

• 4 spiral notebooks
• 1 medium size Elmers glue
• 2 small glue sticks
• 1 box of colored pencils (sharpened)
• 1 box of crayons
• Pencil top erasers
• Package of #2 pencils
• Hi-lighter pen
• Pair of children's scissors

4. Canvas your neighborhood by going door-to-door. Families with children should be given a "coupon" to redeem their backpack at church on August 1, 2010 (NHCLC's Evangelism Sunday).
