Fourteen years ago, Mike Silva International (MSI) began our multi-city outreach campaign to reach the nation of the Dominican Republic for Jesus Christ. From the north to the south, east to the west, it all leads here now, to the heart of the country—Santiago.
As the second-largest city in the nation, and the fourth-largest city in the Caribbean, Santiago is the capital of Santiago Province and major metropolis in the north-central region of the country. Located approximately 96 miles northwest of the capital Santo Domingo, the city’s metropolitan area has a total population of over 1.1 million people and is an intellectual, educational, and cultural center as well as significant industrial center of the Dominican Republic.
Four festival cities later and over a decade-long pursuit and passion for the Dominican people, December 2022 will mark the final festival for our “Reaching the Dominican Republic with the Gospel” Strategic Plan.
This truly is history in the making! It is a celebration for all God has done in years past and the impact made in Azua, Puerto Plata, San Pedro de Macorís and Barahona. But it is also a call to ACTION because our mission ahead is our largest festival city yet and there is great opportunity!
- Thousands more men, women and children in the Dominican Republic added to the Kingdom when they respond to the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
- Local believers are trained and equipped to impact their families and communities.
- Much needed food, clothing and supplies are placed into the hands of families in dire economic need.
- Hundreds of pastors, church leaders and youth leaders are equipped and trained to use their gifts to impact the world for generations to come.
The TIME for the Gospel is NOW…In many parts of the Dominican Republic, people have never heard the clear, compelling Jesus Message. The Dominican Republic currently counts with a great variety of creeds being a country which allows religious freedom. The most practiced one is still Catholicism, since more than the 50% of the Dominican population practice this faith, followed by the Lutherans and the Atheists. Furthermore, you can also find religions such as Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam, among many others. Only 9% describe themselves as “evangelical” Bible believers who follow orthodox evangelical teachings.
Entangled in cultural and spiritual superstitions, many have grown up with a combination of superstitious beliefs and practices mixed with a sprinkling of Christianity, clinging to false and unbiblical ideologies and therefore floundering in a sea of religious confusion. Dominicans are desperately in need of true and accurate Gospel witness and presentation.
The only hope is JESUS.
The only difference is JESUS.
The only possible individual and cultural transformation is JESUS!
“To belong
to Jesus is
to embrace
the nations
with him.”

This two-day festival in the heart of Santiago will mobilize thousands throughout the community. Believers will put their training to work as they invite friends, family and neighbors, and counsel them as many will make commitments to Christ. Thousands of people who might not normally be drawn to a Christian event will attend because of popular music artists, paving the way for us to proclaim the life-changing message of the Lord Jesus Christ and seeing many of them give their lives to Him. The festival will include:
- Special affinity events for business and government leaders, women, youth, pastors and leaders
- Children’s Outreach – “FestiKids”
- Effective discipleship and counselor training
- Serve Teams blanketing the city with various service projects
